Region:The forest belt between the Western Ghats and the Nilgiri Mountains Location:Chamarajanagar, Karnataka, India
Best Time to Visit:01-Sep to 31-Dec Getting There:Bandipur is not too much of problem because of it's location on the main wonderful highway connecting Mysore and Ooty. There are regular buses and easily available taxis from all the neighboring large towns, mainly Mysore. Nearest Town: Gundelpet Nearest Airport:Mysore Nearest Railway Station:Nanjungud
Accommodation:Accommodation facilities in the park are adequate in most respects except quantity. That too, mainly due to the heavy influx of weekend tourists from the relatively close-by neighboring towns of Bangalore, Mysore and Coimbatore. There are Forest Rest Houses, Cottages and Lodges. There are of both types, which are government and private owned.
